Abstract

Total export value fell 5.47 percent from US $ 151.85 million (April 2018) to US $ 143.55 million (May 2018)

Mineral fuel is still a prime export commodity (US $ 84.61 million), contributing 58.94 percent of total exports

Japan is a major export destination country (US $ 46.01 million), contributing 32.05 percent of total exports

Kumai dominates the export commodity loading service (US $ 17.25 million), contributing 12.02 percent of total exports

Cumulatively, the total export value fell 7.26 percent from US $ 870.06 million (January-May 2017) to US $ 806.92 million (January-May 2018)

The total import value fell 88.62 percent from US $ 53.09 million (April 2018) to US $ 6.04 million (May 2018). Cumulatively, the value dropped 131.53 percent from US $ 36.09 million (January-May 2017) to US $ 83.55 million (January-May 2018)

Foreign trade balance was a surplus of US $ 137.51 million (May 2018) and US $ 723.37 million (January-May 2018).
