Abstract

In July 2020 there was deflation in Indonesia of 0.10 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.95. Of the 90 CPI cities, 61 experienced deflation and 29 cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Manokwari of 1.09. Meanwhile, the highest inflation occurred in Timika at 1.45 percent. Sampit ranks the 10th highest inflation city in Indonesia.
  • Inflation in Sampit City of 0.28 percent in July 2020 was influenced by the increase in the price index in the transportation group (3.84 percent), the personal care and other services group (0.96 percent), the food and beverage / restaurant supply group (0, 75 percent), the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group (0.74 percent), the information, communication and financial services group (0.65 percent), the clothing and footwear group (0.48 percent), the recreation group, sports and culture (0.37 percent) and the health group (0.01 percent). Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the price index were the Education group (1.98 percent), the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.61 percent), and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group (0.53 percent).
  • The commodities that had the highest contribution to a significant increase in the price index in Sampit during July 2020 were air transport, filter clove cigarettes, gold jewelry, watermelons and cellphones.
