Abstract

During June 2018, Sampit City experienced an increase in general commodity prices (inflation) of 1.82 percent with a consumer price index of 136.90. The calendar year inflation rate is 4.37 percent. Meanwhile, the inflation rate "year on year" (June 2018 to June 2017) amounted to 4.60 percent.

Inflation in Sampit City during June 2018 was due to an increase in the price index across all expenditure groups. The highest inflation occurred in the Transport, Communications and Financial Services Group by 4.38 percent compared to May 2018.

The commodities that have the highest contribution to the significant increase of price index in Sampit City during June 2018 are air transportation, chicken meat, intercity transportation, long bean, and tuna / ambu. While the commodities that experienced significant price decrease were successively fishes / bengkol, selar / tude fish, lais fish, shellfish, and onion.
