Abstract

During April 2018, Sampit City experienced an increase in general commodity prices (inflation) of 0.63 percent with a consumer price index of 133.51. The calendar year inflation rate of 1.78 percent. Meanwhile, the inflation rate "year on year" (April 2018 to April 2017) amounted to 2.83 percent.

Inflation in Sampit City during April 2018 was due to an increase in the price index in all expenditure groups. The highest inflation occurred in the Foodstuffs Group by 1.67 percent compared to March 2018.

The commodities that have contributed the most to the significant increase in price index in Sampit City during April 2018 are chicken meat, onion, air transport, garlic, and gasoline. While commodities that experienced a significant price decline were mobile phones, rice, long beans, chicken eggs, and cooking oil.
