Abstract

• During October 2017 Kota Sampit experienced inflation of 0.13 percent with a consumer price index of 129.99. The inflation rate for calendar year (October 2017 to January 2017) was 2.36 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (October 2017 to October 2016) was 4.38 percent.
• Inflation in Sampit City during October occurred due to an increase in the price index of the five expenditure groups. The highest inflation occurred in the Transportation, Communication and Financial Services Group by 0.95 percent. Meanwhile, the highest decrease in the price index (deflation) was highest in the Foodstuff category by 0.95 percent.
• The commodities that have the highest contribution to the significant increase of price index in Sampit City during October 2017 are air, orange, sand, chicken, and batako. While commodities that experienced a significant decrease in price index are tuna / ambu-ambu, watermelon, red onion, fish overpass / benggol, and acid.
