Abstract

• During January 2017 Kota Sampit experienced inflation of 0.91 percent with a consumer price index of 128.14. The calendar year inflation rate was 0.91 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (January 2017 to January 2016) was 2.67 percent.

• Inflation in Sampit City during January occurred due to an increase in the price index on all expenditure groups except in the Clothing Group. The highest inflation occurred in the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Fuel Group by 1.94 percent.

• The commodities that have the highest contribution to the significant increase of price index in Sampit City during January 2017 are cayenne pepper, electricity tariff, mobile phone tariff, laptop / notebook, and chicken meat. While the commodities that experienced a decrease in the price index were air transport, onion. Long beans, vegetable tomatoes, fish selar / tude.
