Abstract

The number of sea transport passengers was recorded 25,740 people, down 65.07 percent compared to the previous month which amounted to 73,700 people.

Traffic flow of goods by sea was 1.27 million tons, up 7.66 percent compared to the previous month. Unloading volume rose 33.05 percent while the volume of loading dropped 0.30 percent.

Flight frequency increased 9.70 percent, from 2,114 flights during July 2017 to 2,319 flights during August 2017.

The number of air transport passengers was 170,792 people, down 4.56 percent compared to the previous month which amounted to 178,951 people.

The flow of goods traffic through the air was recorded at 1,876 tons, down 11.80 percent compared to the previous month. The volume of unloading and loading of goods decreased by 13.29 percent and 8.94 percent respectively.

The contribution of sea freight traffic is dominated by Kumai and Sampit ports. The highest passenger flow through Kumai (57.81 percent) and the highest loading / unloading activity through Sampit (45.90 percent). Meanwhile, the traffic flow of passengers and goods through the air port is dominated by Tjilik Riwut at 48.98 percent and 55.91 percent respectively.
