Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI (Consumer Prices Indices) monitoring cities, 50 cities experienced inflation and 32 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.59 percent, while the highest deflation occurred in Manado at 1.04 percent.
  • Palangka Raya and Sampit experienced deflation of 0.24 percent and 0.28 percent respectively. Both cities are ranked 67th and 70th of highest inflation at the national level
  • Deflation in Palangkara Raya was influenced by the decline in the food price index by 1.49 percent.
  • Deflation in Sampit was influenced by the decline in the food price index (1.61 percent), clothing (0.11 percent), and health (0.08 percent).
  • Central Kalimantan Province (Combined Kota Palangka Raya and Kota Sampit) experienced a deflation of 0.26 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 2.58 percent and year-on-year inflation rate of 3.81 percent.
  • The core component contributed to inflation of 0.16 percent in Palangka Raya and 0.14 percent in Sampit City.
