Of the 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 12 experienced inflation and 70 cities experienced deflation. Palangka Raya was ranked 10th highest inflation city at the national level and Sampit was ranked 41st highest deflation city at the national level.
  • Inflation in Palangka Raya (0.05 percent) was influenced by the rising price index of the clothing group (1.28 percent) as well as education, recreation and sports (0.56 percent).
  • Deflation in Sampit (0.26 percent) was influenced by the decline in the price index of the foodstuffs group (1.37 percent) and transportation, communication, and financial services (0.18 percent).
  • Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced deflation (0.07 percent), which was followed by a calendar year inflation rate (0.90 percent) and a year-on-year inflation rate (2.27 percent) which was quite low .
