During October 2017, 0.46 percent deflation occurred in Palangka Raya and 0.13 percent inflation in Sampit.

Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 44 cities experienced  inflation and 38 cities experienced deflation. Highest inflation  occurred in Tual of 1.05 percent, while deflation the highest in Palu by 1.31 percent.
  • Kota Palangkara Raya there was a deflation of 0.46 percent but Sampit City experienced inflation of 0.13 percent. Both cities are ranked 72nd  and the 23rd highest inflation at the national level.
  • Deflation in Palangka Raya City is mainly influenced by decline in the price index in the foodstuffs group amounting to 2.17 percent.
  • Inflation in the City of Sampit is mainly influenced by increases  price indexes on transportation, communication, and group  financial services (0.95 percent), and finished food, beverages,  cigarettes, and tobacco (0.68 percent).
  • Central Kalimantan Province (Combined Kota Palangka Raya and Kota Sampit) there was a deflation of 0.25 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 2.33 percent and  year-on-year inflation rate of 4.01 percent.
  • The core component has a deflationary share of 0.06 percent in Palangka Raya City, while in Sampit City owns inflation share of 0.09 percent.
