October 2022: Palangka Raya experiences deflation of 0.07 percent and Sampit experiences deflation of 0.01 percent

Abstract

In October 2022, based on two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, there was a deflation in Central Kalimantan of 0.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.18. Of the 90 CPI cities, 29 cities experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manokwari of 0.76 percent with a CPI of 114.84 and the highest deflation was in Gunungsitoli of 1.48 percent with a CPI of 113.05.
  • The combined deflation of the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in October 2022 was due to a decrease in the index of the transportation group (0.55 percent), the information, communication and financial services group (0.24 percent), the personal care and other services group (0.08 percent). ), the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.07 percent) and the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group (0.03 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (October 2022 to December 2021) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 5.89 percent and year-on-year inflation (October 2022 to October 2021) was 7.10 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in October 2022 include rice, long beans, kretek cigarettes, broiler meat, kale, bananas, noodles, gasoline, cucumbers, and watermelons.
  • Commodities that contributed to deflation in October 2022 include air transportation, shallots, cooking oil, cayenne pepper, tongol/ambuambu fish, broiler eggs, gold jewelry, tomatoes, red chilies, and cell phones.
