Abstract

In October 2021, based on the two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, Kalimantan Tengah had inflation of 0.90 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.54. Of the 90 CPI cities, 68 cities experienced inflation and 22 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sampit at 2.06 percent with a CPI of 109.30 and the lowest occurred in Banyuwangi at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 104.64. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at 0.70 percent with a CPI of 107.98 and the lowest occurred in Bengkulu at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 105.89.
  • The combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in October 2021 occurred due to an increase in prices in the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups (3.64 percent), equipment, equipment, and household routine maintenance groups (0.49 percent). ), food, beverage and tobacco group (0.47 percent), clothing and footwear group (0.16 percent), personal care and other services group (0.09 percent), health group (0.07 percent), group education and food and beverage/restaurant provision (0.03 percent) and information, communication and financial services group (0.01 percent).
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–October) 2021 for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit City was recorded at 2.16 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2021 to October 2020) was 3.09 percent.
  • Commodities that contribute to inflation include tariffs for drinking water from PDAM, catfish, broiler meat, cooking oil, and snakehead fish.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include tomatoes, broiler eggs, shallots, carrots, and air transportation.
