March 2022: Palangka Raya experiences inflation of 0.69 percent and Sampit experienced inflation of 0.97 percent

Abstract

  • In March 2022, based on the two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, it happened inflation in Kalimantan Tengah is 0.80 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 110.29. Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced inflation experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Merauke at 1.86 percent with CPI was 109.13 and the lowest was in Kupang at 0.09 percent with CPI of 107.27. Meanwhile, deflation occurred in Kendari by 0.07 percent with The CPI was 108.63 and Tual was 0.27 percent with the CPI at 109.02.

  • Combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in March 2022 occurred because an increase in the index of the food and beverage supply group/restaurant (1.36 percent), transportation group (1.30 percent) and personal care and other services group (1.21 percent).

  • Calendar year inflation rate (March 2022 to December 2021) for The combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit were recorded at 1.40 percent and inflation year on year (March 2022 to March 2022) of 4.33 percent.

  • Commodities contributing to inflation in March 2022 include household fuel, air freight, cayenne pepper, oily pastries, onions red, gold jewelry, broiler eggs, fried fish, tuna/ambu-ambu fish and cooking oil.

  • Commodities that contributed to deflation in March 2022 include: purebred chicken, catfish, tilapia, flotsam, soft drinks, tomatoes, meat beef, lipstick, squid and potatoes.
