Desember 2021: Palangka Raya experiences 0.66% inflation and Sampit experiences 0.99% inflation

Abstract

In December 2021, based on the two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, Kalimantan Tengah had inflation of 0.86 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.77. Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 1.91 percent with a CPI of 105.87 and the lowest occurred in Pekanbaru at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 106.53. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Dumai at 0.13 percent with a CPI of 107.70 and Bukittinggi at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 106.59.
  • The combined inflation for Palangka Raya and Sampit in December 2021 was due to an increase in the index of the transportation group (2.97 percent), the food, beverage and tobacco group (1.17 percent), the food and beverage/restaurant supply group (0.53 percent), personal care and other services group (0.52 percent), housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group (0.35 percent), household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group (0.35 percent), group clothing and footwear (0.34 percent) and recreational, sports and cultural groups (0.17 percent).
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–December) 2021 and year on year (December 2021 to December 2020) for the combined of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 3.32 percent.
  • Commodities that contribute to inflation in December 2021 include air transportation, cayenne pepper, cooking oil, red chili and cement.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation in December 2021 include broiler chicken, catfish, cork fish, watermelon, and catfish.
