November 2021: Palangka Raya experiences 0.26% inflation and Sampit experiences 0.32% inflation

Abstract

  • In November 2021, based on the two reference cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit, Kalimantan Tengah's inflation rate was 0.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.84. Of the 90 CPI cities, 84 cities experienced inflation and 6 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sintang at 2.01 percent with a CPI of 113.80 and the lowest occurred in Pontianak at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 107.06. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu at 0.53 percent with a CPI of 107.95 and the lowest occurred in Tual at 0.16 percent with a CPI of 108.77.
  • The combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in November 2021 occurred due to an increase in the index of the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.58 percent), the recreation, sports and culture group (0.34 percent), the equipment, equipment, and maintenance group household routine (0.26 percent), housing, water, electricity, and household fuel (0.23 percent), information, communication, and financial services group (0.17 percent), personal care and other services group and the transportation group (0.08 percent), the food and beverage/restaurant supply group and the health group (0.07 percent), and the clothing and footwear group (0.01 percent).
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–November) 2021 for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 2.44 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2021 to November 2020) was 2.81 percent.
  • Commodities that contribute to inflation include cooking oil, broiler eggs, watermelon, cork fish, and mustard greens.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include long beans, broiler meat, mangoes, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
