Abstract

  • During July 2019, the City of Sampit increased deflation by (0.26 percent) with the consumer price index of 141.16 (June 2019) to 140.79 (July 2019). The number of calendar years is 1.24 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (July 2019 compared to July 2018) is 2.90 percent. Sampit City ranked 11th city of deflation at the national level. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga (1.88 percent) and the highest deflation was in Tual 1.55 percent). Deflation in Sampit is largely dependent on a fall in the price index on transportation, communication, and financial services (1.64 percent) and foodstuffs (0.30 percent).
  • The commodity that had the highest share of the price index decline in Sampit City during July 2019 was fully supported by Air Transport, Shallots, Rice, Beef Bones, and Garlic. Whereas Chili Rawit, Cucumber, Academy, College, Refrigerator / Fridge, and Gold Jewelry.
  • Of the 9 CPI cities on Kalimantan Island during July 2019, almost all cities monitored deflation. While inflation occurred in three cities namely Samarinda (0.59 percent), Tanjung (0.18 percent), and Singkawang (0.13 percent). The highest deflation occurred in Tarakan (0.64 percent) and the lowest in Balikpapan (0.08 percent). A fairly high price index occurred in Tarakan (0.64 percent) and the lowest in Balikpapan (0.08 percent). The price index in Palangka Raya (133.55 percent) is the lowest compared to several other cities. The highest year-to-year income level occurred in Banjarmasin (4.21 percent).
