Abstract

During December 2018, Sampit City experienced an increase in commodity prices in general (inflation) of 1.47 percent with a consumer price index of 139.06. The inflation rate for the calendar year (January - December 2018) and the inflation rate "year on year" (December 2018 against December 2017) is 6.02 percent.
Inflation in the city of Sampit during December 2018 occurred due to an increase in the index of the six expenditure groups, respectively, the Transport, Communication and Financial Services Group by 5.51 percent, the Foodstuff Group by 1.85 percent, the Clothing Group by 0.37 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Fuel Group by 0.15 percent, Health Group by 0.06 percent, and Food, Drink, Cigarette and Tobacco Group by 0.04 percent compared to November 2018.
