Abstract

· During May 2017, Sampit experienced inflation of 0.02 percent with a consumer price index of 129.86. The calendar year inflation rate of 2.26 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (May 2017 to May 2016) of 4.90 percent.

· Inflation in Sampit during May occurred due to an increase in the price index in the five expenditure groups. The highest inflation occurred in the Clothing Group by 1.32 percent.

· The highest commodity contributed to the significant increase in price index in Sampit during May 2017 is electricity, sand, garlic, air freight and Muslim clothes. While commodities that have decreased the price index are cayenne pepper, orange, onion, wet shrimp, and kale.

• Of the 9 CPI cities in Kalimantan that calculated inflation / deflation in May 2017, respectively the inflation occurred in the Palangkaraya by 0.53 percent; Tarakan by 0,51 percent; Samarinda by 0,38 percent; Singkawang by 0,34 percent; Banjarmasin by 0,33 percent; Balikpapan is 0.32 percent; Pontianak by 0,30 percent; Sampit City by 0,02 percent; and Tanjung at -0.19 percent.
