Farmer Terms of Trade in March 2013

Abstract

In March 2013, the Central Kalimantan Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) was recorded at 98.18 or decreased by 0.23 percent compared to NTP February 2013. This is due to the rise in the price index received by farmers by 0.25 percent less than the increase in the Index paid farmers who rose by 0.48 percent.  Viewed from 5 (five) subsectors, there are 2 (two) sub-sectors of Agriculture decreased NTP, that is Food Crops subsector fell by 0.70 percent and Livestock sub-sector decreased by 0.33 percent. While the sub-sector that experienced an increase is the Horticulture sub-sector that went up by 0.59 percent, the sub-sector of Perkebuanan Rakyat (TPR) increased by 0.04 percent and fisheries subsector rose by 0.21 percent.  In March 2013, the price index received by farmers (IT) rose by 0.25 percent compared with IT February February 2013. IT improvement is due to the four subsectors have increased IT. Horticulture subsector increased by 0.99 percent, Subsector Plantation Plantation (TPR) rose by 0.59 percent, Livestock subsector rose by 0.14 percent and fisheries sub-sector rose by 0.64 percent. While the only sub-sector that experienced IT decline is Food Crops Subsector decreased by 0.21 percent.  The price index paid by farmers (IB) in March 2013 rose by 0.48 percent compared to February 2013. This increase is due to the increase of IB in the five subsectors of the Crop sub-sector Food rose by 0.49 percent, Horticulture subsector rose by 0.40 percent, sub-sector Smallholder Plantation (TPR) which rose by 0.55 percent, Livestock subsector increased by 0.48 percent and the Fisheries Sub-sector rose by 0.44 percent.  Changes in Household consumption index (KRT) reflects the rate of inflation / deflation in the region Rural. In March 2013 there was an increase of 0.56 percent. This increase is caused by the increase of all groups of household consumption ie Foodstuff category rose by 0.75 percent, So Food category rose by 0.02 percent, the housing group rose by 0.59 percent, Sandang group rose by 0.71 percent, Health group rose by 0.08 percent, Education, Recreation & Sport group rose by 0.38 percent and Transportation & Communication rose by 0.61 percent.  In March 2013, the National NTP was 104.53 percent or down 0.63 percent compared to the month February 2013. This is because the price index received by farmers rose by 0.02 percent lower than the rise in the price index paid by farmers which rose by 0.65 percent
