Farmer Terms of Trade in February 2013

Abstract

In February 2013, the Central Kalimantan Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) was recorded at 98.40 or experienced
a decrease of 0.18 percent compared to NTP in January 2013. This is due to an increase in the Index
the price received by farmers by 0.32 percent is smaller than the increase in the Index
paid farmers who rose by 0.49 percent.
 Viewed from 5 (five) subsectors, there are 2 (two) sub-sectors Agriculture has decreased NTP, that is
Food Crops sub-sector decreased by 0.66 percent and Livestock sub-sector decreased by
0.37 percent. While the sub-sector that experienced an increase is the Horticulture sub-sector that went up
by 0.21 percent, the sub-sector of Smallholder Plantation (TPR) increased by 0.69 percent and
Fisheries subsector rose by 0.16 percent.
 In February 2013, the price index received by farmers (IT) rose by 0.32 percent compared
with IT in January 2013. The IT upgrade is due to the four subsectors experienced
IT improvements. Horticulture subsector increased by 0.81 percent, Plantation Plant Subsector
People (TPR) rose by 1.20 percent, Livestock subsector rose by 0.15 percent and sub-sector
Fisheries rose by 0.58 percent. While the only subsector that experienced IT decline
is the Food Crops Subsector which decreased by 0.22 percent.
 The price index paid by farmers (IB) In February 2013 rose by 0.49 percent compared
January 2013. This increase is due to the increase of IB in the five subsectors of the sub-sector
Food Crops rose by 0.44 percent, Horticulture subsector rose by 0.59 percent,
Subsector of Smallholder Plantations (TPR) which rose by 0.51 percent, Livestock sub-sector
rose by 0.52 percent and the Fisheries Subsector rose by 0.42 percent.
 Changes in Household Consumption Index (KRT) reflects the Inflation / Deflation figures in the region
Rural. In February 2013 there was an increase of 0.58 percent. This increase is caused by
the increase of all groups of household consumption ie Foodstuff category rose by
0.84 percent, So Food group rose by 0.06 percent, the housing group rose by 0.39
percent, Sandang group rose by 0.53 percent, Health group rose by 0.52 percent,
Education, Recreation & Sport group rose by 0.35 percent and Transportation &
Communication rose by 0.16 percent.
 In February 2013, the National NTP was 105.19 percent or decreased 0.45 percent compared to the month
January 2013. This is because the price index received by farmers rose by 0.12 percent
lower than the rise in the price index paid by farmers which rose by 0.57 percent.
