September 2022: Palangka Raya experiences inflation of 1.05 percent and Sampit experiences inflation of 1.43 percent

Abstract

In September 2022, based on two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, inflation in Kalimantan Tengah was 1.19 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.23. Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bukit Tinggi at 1.87 percent with a CPI of 114.45 and the highest deflation in Manokwari at 0.64 percent with a CPI of 113.97.
  • The combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in September 2022 was due to an increase in the index of the transportation group (7.45 percent), the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group (0.85 percent), the food and beverage/restaurant supply group. (0.59 percent) and the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.34 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (September 2022 to December 2021) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 5.94 percent and year-on-year inflation (September 2022 to September 2021) was 8.12 percent.
  • Commodities that contributed to inflation in September 2022 include gasoline, rice, household fuel, sand, long beans, broiled chicken, bananas, instant dry noodles, travel vehicle fares, and bottled water.
  • Commodities that contributed to deflation in September 2022 include shallots, air transportation, tomatoes, cooking oil, watermelon, cayenne pepper, cork fish, tilapia, kite fish/benggol fish, and gold jewelry.
