Abstract

During November 2019, Sampit City experienced an increase in commodity prices in general (inflation) by 0.26 percent with the consumer price index of 140.88. The calendar year inflation rate is 1.31 percent and the year on year inflation rate (November 2019 to November 2018) is 2.80 percent.
Inflation in the City of Sampit during November 2019 occurred due to an increase in the index in six expenditure groups, respectively the Foodstuffs Group by 1.36 percent, the Food, Beverage, Cigarettes and Tobacco Group by 0.39 percent, the Health Group by 0, 20 percent, the Education, Recreation and Sports Group by 0.03 percent, the Clothing Group by 0.02 percent and the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Fuel Group by 0.01 percent .
The commodities that had the highest share of a significant increase in the price index in Sampit City during November 2019 were poultry, shallots and martabak. Meanwhile, the commodities that had the highest share of significant decreases in the price index were air transportation, cob and shellfish.
Of the 9 CPI cities on the island of Kalimantan that counted inflation in November 2019, sequentially inflation occurred in Tanjung City (Tabalong) by 0.97 percent, Tarakan City by 0.63 percent, Palangka Raya City by 0.46 percent, Samarinda City by 0.27 percent, Sampit City by 0.26 percent, Banjarmasin City by 0.17 percent and Balikpapan City by 0.14. Conversely, deflation occurred in Singkawang by 0.43 percent and Pontianak by 0.07 percent, respectively.
