APRIL 2019 SAMPIT CITY INFLATION 0.66 PERCENT

Abstract

During April 2019, Sampit City experienced inflation of 0.66 percent with the consumer price index of 138.61 (March 2019) to 139.52 (April 2019). The inflation rate of the calendar year is 0.33 percent and the inflation rate of "year on year" (April 2019 against April 2018) is 4.50 percent.
The city of Sampit is ranked 14th in the city of inflation at the national level. The highest inflation occurred in Medan (1.30 percent) and the highest deflation in Manado (1.27 percent).
Inflation in Sampit was mainly influenced by the increase in the price index in the health group (1.66 percent) and foodstuffs (1.57 percent).
Commodities that have the highest share of a significant increase in the price index in Sampit City during April 2019 are shallots, garlic, and air transportation respectively. Meanwhile, commodities that have contributed to deflation are rice, electricity tariffs, cayenne pepper, oranges and color television.
Of the 9 CPI cities in Kalimantan Island during April 2019, all price monitoring cities experienced inflation, with the highest inflation occurring in Banjarmasin (0.97 percent) and the lowest inflation occurring in Samarinda (0.07 percent. The high price index came from Tarakan (148.72 percent) and Pontianak (147.18 percent). While the lowest price index compared to other cities is Palangka Raya (132.98 percent). Until April 2019, the inflation rate for the calendar year in Kalimantan for three cities is already above 4.00 percent, namely Tarakan (5.06 percent), Sampit (4.50 percent) and Banjarmasin (4.11 percent).
