Abstract

The labor force in August 2018 was 1,355.40 thousand people, an increase of 78.73 thousand people compared to August 2017 which amounted to 1,276.67 thousand people. This is in line with the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) which increased by 2.29 percentage points to 70.03 percent.

The population working in Kalimantan Tengah in August 2018 was 1,301.00 thousand people, an increase of 78.29 thousand compared to August 2017.

The August 2018 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 4.01 percent, down by 0.22 percentage points compared to August 2017.

Labor absorption according to categories during August 2018 was dominated by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Category (38.37 percent), Large Trade and Retail, Car and Motorcycle Repair (17.74 percent) and Government, Defense and Social Security Obligatory Administration (6 , 72 percent).

In August 2018, 48.61 percent of the population worked in formal activities, increasing by 2.94 percentage points compared to August 2017.

In August 2018, there were 30.74 percent of the population working not full (working hours less than 35 hours a week) consisting of 7.23 percent half unemployed and 23.51 percent part-time workers.
