Abstract

The labor force in August 2017 was 1,276,669 people, down 34,758 compared to August 2016.
The population works in Kalimantan Tengah in August 2017 of 1,222,707 people, down 25,482 people compared to August 2016.The Unemployment Rate (TPT) of August 2017 was 4.23 percent, down by 0.59 percentage points compared to August 2016.
Over the past year, sectors that experienced an increasing percentage of working population were Agriculture Sector (3.91 percentage points), Community Service Sector (0.50 percentage points), Financial Sector (0.35 percentage points), and Construction Sector ( 0.15 percentage points).
In August 2017, 45.67 percent of the population worked on formal activities, and the percentage of formal workers rose by 4.32 percentage points compared to August 2016.
In August 2017, 30.76 per cent of the working population was not full (hours less than 35 hours per week) covering 9.15 per cent of the underemployed and 21.61 per cent of part-time workers. In the past year, half the unemployed rose by 0.20 percentage points, while part-time workers fell by 1.01 percentage points.
