Abstract

Among 82 cities monitoring national CPI, 66 cities experienced inflation and 16 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Palu (2.27 percent) and the highest deflation in Bengkulu (0.74 percent).

Inflation occurred in Palangka Raya (0.21 percent) and Sampit (0.15 percent). Both cities were ranked 38th and 47th city of the highest inflation at the national level.

Inflation in Palangka Raya was mainly influenced by the increase in the price index in the clothing group (0.98 percent) as well as transportation, communication and financial services (0.47 percent)

Inflation in Sampit was mainly influenced by the increase in the price index in the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group (0.53 percent) and education, recreation and sports (0.33 percent)

Based on the two reference cities,Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced inflation (0.19 percent) followed by the inflation rate of the calendar year (3.32 percent) and year-on-year inflation (4.17 percent)

The core component has a strong influence on inflation in Palangka Raya (0.12 percent), while the biggest influence of inflation in Sampit comes from the government regulated price component (0.12 percent)
