Abstract

Among 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 68 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong (1.47 percent) and the highest deflation in Ambon (1.45 percent)
  • Inflation occurred in Palangka Raya (0.04 percent) and deflation in Sampit (0.06 percent). Both cities are ranked 64th and 72nd of the city's highest inflation at the national level
  • Inflation in Palangkaraya was mainly influenced by the rise in the food price index (0.63 percent) and finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.46 percent)
  • Deflation in Sampit was mainly influenced by the decline in the food price index (1.08 percent) and transportation, communication and financial services (0.17 percent)
  • Based on two reference cities,Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced inflation (0.01 percent), followed by year-on-year inflation rate (3.13 percent) and year-on-year inflation (3.13 percent)
  • The volatile foods component has a strong influence on inflation rate in Palangka Raya (0.19 percent) and deflation in Sampit (0.29 percent)
