Abstract

The labor force in February 2018 was 1,397.2 thousand people, up 26.4 thousand people compared to February 2017.

The population working in Kalimantan Tengah in February 2018 was 1,352.8 thousand people, an increase of 24.9 thousand people compared to February 2017.

The February 2018 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 3.18 percent, up by 0.05 percentage points compared to February 2017.

The largest labor distribution during February 2018 is in the categories of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (38.58 percent), Large and Retail Trade, Automobile and Motorcycle Repair (16.92 percent) and Mandatory Administration, Defense and Social Security (8, 09 percent).

In February 2018, 44.92 percent of the population worked on formal activities, and the percentage of formal workers rose by 1.00 percentage points compared to February 2017.

In February 2018, 31.19 per cent of the working population was not full (hours less than 35 hours per week) covering 7.33 per cent of the underemployed and 23.86 per cent of part-time workers. In the past year, half the unemployed fell by 1.36 percentage points, while the part-time workers rose by 2.24 percentage points.
