The percentage of Poverty in Kalimantan Tengah Province September 2017 reached 5.26 percent

Abstract

In September 2017, the number of poor people (population with per capita spending per month below the Poverty Line)  in Kalimantan Province reached 137,884 people (5.26 percent), increased 421 people compared with the conditions of September 2016 which amounted to 137,463 people (5.36 percent).
  • During the period September 2016 - September 2017 the poor in urban areas increased by 7,722 (from 40,615 people) in September 2016 to 48,337 people in September 2017), while the rural areas were reduced by 7,301 people (from 96,848 people in September 2016 to 89,547 people in September 2017)
  • The urban poor in September 2016 is 4.49 percent, rose to 5.01 percent in September 2017 the poor in rural areas dropped from 5.83 percent on September 2016 to 5.41 percent in September 2017.
  • The poverty line in September 2017 is Rp 406,836, up from  September 2016 which is only Rp 380,524 (6.91 percent)
  • Food commodities that have an effect on the value of Lines  Poverty in urban and rural areas, among them is  rice, clove cigarettes, beef, chicken meat, sugar, eggs  chicken race, and instant noodles. While commodities are not food like the cost of housing, electricity, gasoline, and education
  • In the period September 2016 - September 2017. Depth Index  Poverty (P1) rose from 0.648 to 0.840, this indicates  that the expenditure of the poor tends to stay away from the line poverty. While Poverty Severity Index (P2) also rose from 0.146 to 0.197. This figure shows that the inequality population expenditure widened
  • If compared between provinces on Borneo Island in September  2016 highest poverty rate in West Kalimantan Province (7.86  percent), while the lowest was in South Kalimantan (4.70  percent)
