Poverty Profile in Kalimantan Tengah Province March 2016

Abstract

The number of poor people (the population with per capita per month is below poverty line) in the province of Kalimantan Tengah in March 2016 reached 143 485 people (5.66 percent), decreased 4,215 people (0.28 percent) compared to the poor people in March 2015 amounted to 147 700 people (5.94 percent).

The poverty line in March 2016 in the amount of USD 373 484, - an increase from March 2015 which was only Rp 349 727, - (up 6.79 percent). If compared between provinces on Borneo island in March 2016 the highest poverty rates in the province of Kalimantan Barat at 7.87 percent, while the lowest in the province of Kalimantan Selatan by 4.85 percent.
