Abstract

The number of poor population ( the population who have per capita for consume each month below poverty line) in Kalimantan Tengah Province in September 2016 reach 137.463 people (5,36 percent), minus 10.666 people (0,55 percent) than poor population in September 2015 which amount 148.129 (5,91)
During September 2015 – September 2016 period, urban poor population decreased 8.108 people ( 48.732 people in September 2015 become 40.615 people in September 2016), and on the other side rural poor population decreased 2.558 people ( 99.406 people in September 2015 become 96.848 people in September 2016),
Urban poor population on September 2015 around 5,83 percent, minus1,34 percent become 4,49 percent on September 2016. Then, rural poor population also going down from 6,02 percent on September 2015 become 5.83 percent on September 2016.
Poverty line on September 2016 worth Rp 380.524,- , this mount increased from September 2015 that only mount Rp 362.729,- (increased 4.91 percent).
Foods comodity give more contribution than non foods comodity ( housing, clothing, education, and health ). On September 2016, Foods Poverty Line gave contribution around 79,77 percent, this was not much different than the condition in Spetember 2015 that recorded amount 79.73 percent.
Food comodity that have big impact in Poverty Line both in urban and rural are rice, cigarrete, chicken meat, chicken eggs, sugar, cake, mie, and red onion. And then, for Non Food Comodity there are housing bill, gasoline, electricity, tuition fee, and bathing tools.
On September 2015 – September 2016 period, Poverty Gap Index / Indeks Kedalaman Kemiskinan (P1) going down from 1,018 become 0,648, this was indicating tha the average of population consumer tend to close with Poverty Line. While Poverty Severity Index / Indeks Keparahan Kemiskinan (P2) going down from 0,235 to 0,146. This number showed that the gap poor population consumer narrower.
Compared with another provinces in Kalimantan Island on September 2016, the highest poverty population number in West Kalimantan amount 8,00 percent, while the lowest is South Kalimantan amount 4,52 percent.
