Abstract

In May 2024, Sampit year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation will be 3.25 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.47.

Y-o-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the price index in several expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.48 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.21 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.51 percent; health group at 0.72 percent; transportation group by 2.53 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.08 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.63 percent; education group at 1.89 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.22 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 4.07 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Sampit in May 2023 are 0.33 percent and 1.77 percent respectively.
