March 2023 inflation in Sampit City was 0.48 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.79

Abstract

In March 2023, Indonesia experienced inflation of 0.18 percent. Of the 90 CPI cities, 65 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang at 1.30 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Bandung by 1.50 percent. Sampit City is ranked 25th as an inflation city with inflation of 0.48 percent.
  • Inflation in Sampit City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the price index for several expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.95 percent); clothing and footwear group (0.11 percent); the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group (0.05 percent); health group (0.03 percent); transportation group (0.87 percent); and the personal care and other services group (0.21 percent).
  • The March 2023 calendar year inflation rate is 0.69 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2023 against March 2022) is 5.11 percent.
  • Commodities contributing/contributing to inflation include: rice, filter clove cigarettes, gasoline, bird's eye chilies, tuna/ambu-ambu fish, water spinach, air transportation, garlic, rimbang/tekokak, and toothpaste.
  • Meanwhile, commodities contributing/contributing to deflation were: shallots, trellis/tude fish, purebred chicken, watermelon, wet shrimp, young jackfruit, squid, cucumber, shampoo and catfish.
