Abstract

In February 2023, Indonesia experienced inflation of 0.16 percent. Of the 90 CPI cities, 63 cities experienced inflation, and 27 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ternate at 1.85 percent and the lowest occurred in Lubuklinggau, Bengkulu, Madiun and Denpasar, each at 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Gunungsitoli by 0.98 percent and the lowest occurred in Sumenep by 0.02 percent. Sampit City is ranked 50th as an inflation city with inflation of 0.10 percent.
  • Inflation in Sampit City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the price index in several expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.12 percent); the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group (0.15 percent); group of equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance (0.17 percent); health group (0.31 percent); recreation, sport and culture group (0.26 percent); the food and beverage/restaurant supply group (0.20 percent); and the personal care and other services group (0.36 percent).
  • The February 2023 calendar year inflation rate is 0.21 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2023 to February 2022) is 5.63 percent. Commodities contributing/contributing to inflation include: filter cigarettes, rice, long beans, household fuel, gold jewelry, tilapia fish, cooking oil, martabak, bottled water, and kretek cigarettes. Meanwhile, commodities contributing/contributing to deflation were: tomatoes, kale, tuna/ambu-ambu fish, purebred chicken eggs, selar/tude fish, spinach, watermelon, flotsam fish, snacks, wet shrimp.
