January 2023: Palangka Raya experienced inflation of 0.13 percent and Sampit experienced inflation of 0.11 percent

Abstract

In January 2023, the combined inflation for the City of Palangka Raya and Sampit was 0.13 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.79. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 80 cities experienced inflation and 10 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Gunung Sitoli at 1.87 percent with a CPI of 116.79, while the highest deflation occurred in Timika at 0.60 percent with a CPI of 115.20.
  • The combined inflation for the City of Palangka Raya and Sampit in January 2023 occurred due to an increase in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.62 percent), the personal care and other services group (0.48 percent), the clothing and footwear group ( 0.21 percent), equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group (0.15 percent), and health group (0.08 percent).
  • Calendar year inflation (January 2023 to December 2022) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was recorded at 0.13 percent and year-on-year inflation (January 2023 against January 2022) was recorded at 5.81 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in January 2023 include filter clove cigarettes, rice, pork, gold jewelry, tuna/ambuambu fish, white cigarettes, tomatoes, clove cigarettes, white cabbage/cabbage, and shallots.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation in January 2023 include gasoline, kale, household fuel, snakehead fish, catfish, mustard greens, fern leaves, lais fish, diesel and spinach.
