Abstract

Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • The Joint NTP of Kalimantan Tengah in September 2022 decreased by 0.09 percent compared to August 2022, from 116.08 to 115.98. This decrease was caused by the decline in the exchange rate in almost all sub-sectors, namely the horticulture sub-sector (3.52 percent), the fisheries sub-sector (2.63 percent), the livestock sub-sector (1.38 percent) and the food crops sub-sector (0.12 percent). Meanwhile, the smallholder plantation sub-sector was the only sub-sector that experienced an increase in the exchange rate, which was 0.73 percent.
  • In September 2022, there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Kalimantan Tengah by 1.36 percent, which was mainly due to the increase in the price index for the transportation group (5.81 percent). Meanwhile, only the price index for the information, communication and financial services category decreased (0.01 percent).
  • Similar to NTP, Kalimantan Tengah's Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in September 2022 also decreased by 0.93 percent, from 116.16 (August 2022) to 115.08 (September 2022).
