Kalimantan Tengah Economy in 2019 Growing 6.16%

Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in 2019 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp150,283.2 billion and on a constant basis in 2010 reached Rp100,428.7 billion.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economic growth until the fourth quarter of 2019 (c-to-c) grew 6.16 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement Category which grew by 9.50 percent, while the lowest was the Manufacturing Industry Category which grew by 4.26 percent. From the expenditure side, growth is driven by all components. The highest growth was achieved by the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-LNPRT) by 7.80 percent.
  • The economy of Central Kalimantan in quarter IV-2019 against quarter IV-2018 (y-on-y) grew 6.02 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Manufacturing Industry Category which grew 12.14 percent, followed by the Electricity and Gas Procurement Category by 11.44 percent and the Financial Services Category by 10.56 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 9.10 percent, followed by the PMTB Component by 7.12 percent and the Household Consumption Expenditure (PK-RT) by 5.73 percent.
  • The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in quarter IV-2019 against quarter III-2019 (q-to-q) grew 1.85 percent. In terms of production the highest growth was achieved by the Mining and Quarrying Category which grew by 14.53 percent, while the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and Processing Industry Categories contracted. In terms of expenditure the highest growth was achieved by the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component (PMTB) of 8.64 percent followed by Government Consumption Expenditures (PK-P) of 7.38 percent.
  • Kalimantan's economic structure spatially in 2019 is still dominated by the Province of Kalimantan Timur by 50.50 percent. Kalimantan Tengah Province ranks fourth with a contribution of 11.61 percent.
