Abstract

Kalimantan Tengah's Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in the second quarter of 2019 was 117.99. This shows that in general consumers feel an improvement in economic conditions in the second quarter of 2019 with a higher level of optimism compared to the first quarter of 2019 (index value of 102.39).

The improvement in consumer economic conditions in the second quarter of 2019 was mainly driven by rising household incomes (index value of 120.49), the effect of inflation on the level of household consumption (index value of 112.80), and an increase in consumption volume (index value of 118 , 60).

Kalimantan Tengah's ITK in the third quarter of 2019 is estimated at 99.38, indicating that the economic condition of consumers will decline compared to the second quarter of 2019 (ITK value of 117.99).

The estimated decline in consumer economic conditions in the coming quarter was mainly triggered by a decline in purchases of durable goods (index value of 84.16). Meanwhile, household income forecasts are actually still increasing (index value of 108.06).
