Abstract

The Kalimantan Tengah Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in quarter I-2019 amounted to 102.39. This shows that in general consumers feel an increase in economic conditions in the first quarter of 2019, but with lower optimism compared to the previous quarter (ITK quarter IV-2018 amounted to 105.39).
  • Improved consumer economic conditions in the first quarter of 2019 were mainly driven by rising household income (index value of 103.26), non-influential inflation on household consumption levels (index value of 102.54), and increased consumption volume (index value of 100 , 12).
  • ITK Kalimantan Tengah in quarter II-2019 is estimated at 116.62 which indicates that the economic conditions of consumers will increase, and with higher optimism compared to quarter I-2019 (ITK value of 102.39).
  • Estimates of the improving condition of the consumer economy in the coming quarter are mainly triggered by increased household income (index value of 124.52) and purchases of durable goods (index value of 102.79).
