The frequency of flights in February 2019 fell 1.69 percent

Abstract

  • The number of passengers via sea transportation fell 9.59 percent from 20,566 people (January 2019) to 18,593 people (February 2019).
  • Sea freight traffic flowed down 8.66 percent from 1.57 million tons (January 2019) to 1.44 million tons (February 2019). The decrease occurred in the unloading volume (1.85 percent) and loading of goods (11.10 percent).
  • Flight frequency dropped 1.69 percent from 1,655 flights (January 2019) to 1,627 flights (February 2019).
  • The number of passengers through air transportation fell by 11.46 percent from 136,402 people (January 2019) to 120,774 people (February 2019).
  • The flow of goods traffic through the air also fell 25.05 percent from 1,661 tons (January 2019) to 1,245 tons (February 2019). The decrease came from the loading and unloading volume (29.02 percent) and loading of goods (18.31 percent).
  • Through seaports, passenger activity is concentrated in Kumai (63.69 percent) and goods in Sampit (53.64 percent). While through the airport, it is still concentrated in Tjilik Riwut, both passenger activities (48.51 percent) and goods (53.17 percent).
