Abstract

In March 2018, the rate of inequality of Kalimantan Tengah population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.342. This figure increased by 0.001 points when compared with Gini Ratio in March 2017 which amounted to 0.343. Meanwhile, when compared with Gini Ratio of September 2017 which amounted to 0.327 rose by 0.015 points.
Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2018 was recorded at 0.387, up from September 2017 Gini Ratio of 0.343 and Gini Ratio of March 2017 which was 0.370. Meanwhile, Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2018 was recorded at 0.295, a decrease compared to the Gini Ratio of September 2017 of 0.303, and Gini Ratio of March 2017 of 0.310.
In March 2018, the distribution of expenditure in the lowest 40 percent group was 19.47 percent. This means that the population expenditure is in the category of low level of inequality. Specified by region, both in urban and rural areas each recorded at 16.75 percent and 21.68 percent, which means urban areas fall into the category of moderate inequality, and rural areas fall into the category of low inequality.
