Abstract

During August 2017, total exports amounted to US $ 116.68 million, falling US $ 23.89 million or 16.99 percent compared to the previous month.

The largest contribution of exports comes from mineral fuel valued at US $ 68.40 million or 58.62 percent of the total export value.
Japan is the main export destination for US $ 43.88 million or 37.61 percent of the total export value.
Kumai port plays a role of US $ 19.61 million or 16.81 percent of the total export value.

During January-August 2017, total exports were valued at US $ 1,253.62 million, up US $ 658.34 million or 110.59 percent compared to the same period in 2016.

Total import value during August 2017 was recorded at only US $ 2.56 million, down US $ 0.11 million or 3.98 percent compared to the previous month.

Trade balance with major trading partner countries experienced a surplus of US $ 114.12 million during August 2017 and US $ 1,210.06 million during January-August 2017.
